Standard Insurance can do better for our communities.

 

Standard claims that “caring about people is a core value” and promotes itself as a company that “make[s] a real difference in the communities [it calls] home,” but customer stories of their experiences with Standard paint a very different picture.

From formal complaints filed with the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services to detailed complaints posted online, Standard customers have come forward to describe numerous ways in which Standard has fallen far short of its purported “culture of caring.”

After years of paying regular premiums, these customers turned to Standard during what may have been the worst time of their lives – after experiencing a disability, a serious illness, or a death in the family.

They applied to access their benefits only to face numerous obstacles – customer complaints tell of unreturned phone calls and lengthy delays in reviewing their claims before ultimately facing a denial of benefits.

It’s time for Standard Insurance to Be Better in how it treats its customers and in how it impacts our communities.
